How to remember anything without writing it down.

I’m going to tell you how you can remember anything without writing it down. These are some simple memory technics you can use to remember the things you might forget. You can make notes of the things you want to remember without writing them down. You can do this with most things. You can do this when you don’t have time to grab a pen and paper or when a pen and paper is unavailable.

What you can do is put an object in a certain place to remind you at a certain time to do something. For an example if you have an old car that you need to check the oil in frequently. You can put an empty oil bottle on the front seat or on the passenger side floor to remind you to check the oil. Even if you don’t check the oil at the moment, seeing the empty bottle in the car will be a constant reminder to check the oil in your car. You will actually remember to do the task later. You can even use notes with this technic.

You can make notes to do certain things at a specific time. You can place the note at a location where you will be at that time. Another example is when you need to go to the store and pick up something like a loaf of bread. You can use an empty bread bag laying in a place where you will see it, urging you to get some bread. Another technique is to make up a totally unrealistic story about the things you need to remember.

For an example let us say that you need to get a list of items from the store. The list as follows: bread, milk, sugar, cookies, cabbage, bologna, and slice cheese. You will make up a story using the items on your list. The items will become characters and objects in your story. Here is an example story.

A big giant piece of bread was walking down the street that you live on. This piece of bread was so massive that as people approached the slice, they crossed the street to the other side. Suddenly a rush of milk appeared out of nowhere. It was as a tittle Wave. The slice of bread stopped to look back at the roaring sound.

The slice saw the huge wave of milk with by now was a tsunami. The slice tried to run but got washed up by the massive milk tsunami. The milk crashed into a big mountain made of sugar. The sugar mountain rocked back and forth violently and suddenly an eruption from a sugar volcano occurred. Hot cookies spewed from the sugar volcano and the hot cookies filled the air and landed on a town of cabbage.

The heads of cabbage were pounded by the hot cookies and the cabbage sprang open, all at one time and out of the cabbage jumped a multitude of bologna meat. The bologna running to safety jumped on their slices of cheese and the slice of cheese flew them into the air dodging the hot cookies and crashed into the milk. By now you have memorized the whole list. By taking your list and turning it into a crazy and bizzar story you are able to remember the items on the list. In this day and age we all have so many things to do.

It is important to note how we remember some things and forget others. We tend to remember those things that grab our attention the most and forget those things that don’t. By making the more mundane task more interesting we are able to remember more.
