Overlapping problems.

By Stanley Thomas.

One reason why some problems are difficult to solve or fix is because you have multiple problems overlapping each other. If you take an empty cardboard box and you  wanted to close it, you would take the first flap and fold it down to begin closing the box. Then you would go to the second flap and you would fold that down on top of the first flap. Then you go to the third flap and fold that down on top of the second flap. And when you get to the fourth flap, you would fold that down on top of the third flap but you tuck it underneath the first flap.
Now you have the cardboard box closed. Now how do you open the cardboard box? In order to open up one flap you have to move the fourth flap from over the first one. Each flap has the previous flap holding it down. Each flap poses as a solution to the next flap after it. At the same time this flap poses as a problem to the flap that comes before it.
Problems are a lot like spotting a crocodile in muddy water. For every problem you see, there are additional problems that you don't see. Each problem you look at has an additional problem attached to it. If you look at a problem you are looking at multiple problems. In order to solve one problem you have to deal with another problem.
In order to remove one flap you have to remove the one before it first. In life if you have one problem you often have multiple problems that exist that you may not see. If you have one problem, there is another problem that you cannot see holding that first problem down. There is always another problem that came before the problem in which you are looking at right now. You have to solve the problem that came before the problem in which you want to solve, if that makes any sense.
Sometimes you have to look at all of your problems and come up with a way in which you can blast through all of the problems at one time. Other times you have to solve only one particular problem at a time. Problems and solutions go hand and hand. Where you have one you have the other. All problems are solutions to other problems, and all solutions are problems to other solutions. It's a continuous cycle problem, solution, then problem, then another solution.
The reason why problems may overlap each other is because of solutions created to solve other problems. The solutions worked at the time they were created to solve other challenges that existed at that time. Now that the situation has changed that solution that once worked then becomes a problem for now that need to be removed. Solving a problem made me more than just solving one problem. He takes patience and understanding of the situation to be able to come up with clear solutions to solve life's challenges.

Comfort ruins you.

By Stanley D. Thomas.

“Comfort can ruin you and discomfort can help you to grow.” Exactly who quoted this saying? Anyone who has ever achieved anything great has said this statement in their hearts. Perhaps not word for word but some variation of this quote. These great people are by no means pleasant to work with at times.
The great's make those who they work with uncomfortable. A great, I believe, is someone who is uncomfortable in their own skin. This is what make a winner a winner. If they allow themselves to get comfortable, they will lose. So they stay on themselves and those who they work with, demanding excellence.
Some people become great because they push themselves to the limit. They also push others to the breaking point as well. This is very uncomfortable by the way. Great athletes tend to push themselves to perform at a very high level. They learn everything they can and work hard to be the best at their craft.
They don't seek comfort, but greatness. So if you are not achieving what you should or if your performance is not great perhaps you can be tougher on yourself than others are on you. You need to be your own drill sergeant. When people achieve greatness in life, will they become Masters and what they do, and become the best, no one ever looks down on them. We all admire the person who succeeded despite the odds, the person who was willing to be uncomfortable for a season to be number one in their field.
No one admires the average guy, the person who never sacrifice much because he does not care to achieve greatness. No one admires the person who always wants to be comfortable, who barely lifts a finger at work but wants to get paid a lot. But strangely people rather spend time with the average person who is comfortable but is going nowhere then to spend time with a winner because he or she is uncomfortable to be with. The majority of people much rather be around someone who they are the most comfortable with even though they don't admire the person. Because comfort is always the easiest choice of thing to do.
It is what people tend to choose to do. By doing only what you are familiar with doing and doing only what you are used to doing, that brings the greatest amount of comfort, you tend to limit yourself. You tend to stop yourself from growing beyond a certain point. And once that happens you start losing some of your own personal abilities and your skills start to decline. What you're doing is that you are weakening yourself through your comfort.
The problem is that you are getting too much comfort. You should only get comfort only after you exert yourself and work yourself. But even with work you have to be careful of not doing only what you normally do all of the time. Perhaps you need to stretch yourself and get out of your comfort zone and learn a new skill or a new task ask to better yourself so you can grow. Because once you get stuck in a comfort zone, it is often worse than getting stuck in a rut.
